I forgot to mention this when I posted the Remembrance Day pictures earlier. I do think it's important to get the kids exposed to the meaning of Remembrance Day so I had tried to prep Lilly before we went by simply explaining what it was about.
I told her that we go to this ceremony to remember all the people who fought in a really big war a long time ago. I also told her that lots of people died in the war and some people didnt. I explained that there would be a parade of flags and lots of people in uniform. She took all this in and simply asked me, " Mommy are there going to be people in the parade who aren't dead?"
I said there sure would be... and I stopped there. (out of the mouths of babes!)
